Bbuddah Hoga Tera Baap

What a stupendous product, vintage Big B written all over. I cannot recall last time when I was so thrilled and entertained by a genuinely comedy movie that was not vulgar, not explicit , not slapstick and yes not over the top . Its a very smart, witty and clean package with some of the most cleverly written one liners that keeps coming to trickle your funny bone even till the very end. Last decent laugh riot I think was YPD (not counting the Golmaals and Co, I dont even consider them worthy enough) but YPD was also a post interval special. Buddha Hoga Tera Baap beats any bollywood movie that I can recall in recent past hands down. Wait a minute, the movie is suppose to be a tribute to 'Angry Young Man' Big B .. and guess what I am talking here..comedy ? The movies has its share of all the shades of golden era of Big B, packed with his trademark red eyes (you dont see them often though , mostly he wears cool shades) , powerful punches and even more powerful dialog delivery. Its AB's movie and he carries it all the way till the very end wearing tattooed jeans , colorful scarfs , designer frames, riding Harley and with an ice cool attitude ...Perfection , dignity all personified. Nothing much in storyline nor in technical aspects but then it was never the intention of the director (as he duly mention in the end, which I think was a very thoughtful gesture). It was suppose to be a tribute to the Angry Young Man with no dose of melodrama or song overdose and it delivers. When you hear entire theater bursting out laughing, whistling, clapping in every 5 minutes you know you are witnessing something special.. The name is Amitabh Bachchan. In the end, you dont want it to end, you are delighted because of the good time you had, yet you are also sad in a sense..its the end, you want more.. Ye Dil Maange More Big B...
