A blast in a foreigner clad metropolitan eatery is a huge cry and a naxal attack on security forces of triple the magnitude goes unnoticed. Terror insensibility and reporting glamorized ?
Different treatment for different terror attacks ! I 'buzzed' this couple of days ago (since i don't tweet yet) and now following it back on my blog. Reason, simple, my buzz still have less than 100 followers, hopefully the blog can make way to some google search of atleast thousands who think and care about the above. A terror attack on a cosmopolitan city is galored and basked to glory by everyone to en-cashed on it. Everyone - politicians, media even terrorists themselves. On the other hand, a not so glamorous but thrice as furious attack on policeman by the naxals only catches 60 second corner footage in national channels. From President to Peon, everyone had his/her words of wisdom for civilians killed in bakery blast but for those poor protectors of civilians, no one even penned a condolence. Politicians , yes I can understand, they had and they will always work only to gain public sympathy and political mileage. And where would they find it ? Simple, they'll find it where the 24X7 media channels are reporting from. Indians love spices , be it in food or in news and this is all about masala. Here is the masala - happening city, upscale crowd and greater international visibility. Some reporters even successfully traced the new terrorist group claiming the attacks. Its easy, all roads leads to Rome and we hate Romans, so lets get some prime time stories on brutalities of Romans. No one however was interested in tracing the red brigade or are they afraid of the Dragon and its saplings ? Fair and genuine media, is a hypothetical concept to me, guess now I can appreciate RGV's Rann beyond Big B's performance.
I have nothing against the dead and injured in both the incidences, a life lost is a life lost. But with all due respect to dead and injured, I feel that those lackluster deaths in sleep were unfortunate, waste. Ferocious and obnoxious statements from a killer Chief Minster " aise naxal attacks , kidnapping to hote rehte hain" make things ever worse. What else would you expect from a convicted criminal ruling freely under z+ security cover. Ram ke liye.. BJP, pull yourself back from this insane government.
Maoist are probably the biggest danger to India's internal security and they have ample support. Its the red brigade and needless to say there in only 1 part in India that wears Red and there is only one capable country in world that is ruled by the reds. Its not just one attack, I think its part of a much bigger and thought of strategic move by the red devils. But can outsiders do it alone ? No they cannot, thus they have to reach out their local followers who are doing their best over last 25 years to spread the word. Its spreading and spreading fast. Andhra - some says its local, Bihar - some says is Caste , Maharashtra - Poverty? hard to believe but even if argument is taken what is the excuse for West Bengal, Chattisgarh and Jharkhand? When & Who will call a Spade a Spade ? When will IB or RAW wake up, or if they are when would they have sufficient powers to act on what they have ? How often we hear the stories of previous warnings given to respective states about the attack ? Looks like a Bollywood movie, police hamesha end main hi aati hain ? When would we understand that this naxal threat is not about desi katte and petrol bomb anymore. Its about sophisticated guided systems and AK47s ? Its not more about chit fund money but its about millions of dollars now. Where is all that coming from ? Even if we don't go beyond our borders, do we think the poor tribal's (often misnomered as naxals) can afford that? How much you can make out of abductions and loots? Or a failed red state can sponsor that? Is that possible ? think please ! I have been debating over this conspiracy theory for long and each new incidence strengthen my views on it. Yet to find a buyer of the story though.
One of my friend pointed out that naxals should hire a good PR and start posting their threats on Al-Jazeera. Well that is exactly what they dont want to do, they dont want to get famous and hog the limelight. Underlying ambition of these two terror outfits differ, one want to create panic thus is more media savvy and other want to run down the entire system thus they work insidiously. Sleepy silent operators making in roads tacitly, waiting for a Big Bang. I hope the country awakes before that , the media awakes before that and probably that rings the alarm bells of the Politicians and Authorities ..before its all lost or damage is beyond repairs.
